SCIENCE, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW

 

National Technical University of Ukraine 'Kyiv Polytechnic Institute' is a leading University in Ukraine in the following areas of science, research and development:

 

· information technologies, system analysis and management;

· electronics, radio engineering and communications;

· electrical engineering and energy saving;

· material science and mechanical engineering;

· power engineering and power generating technologies;

· instrument manufacture and measurement technologies;

· ecology;

· chemical technology and chemical engineering.

 

University’s Research and Development are accomplished at 13 Scientific and Research Institutes, 14 Scientific and Research Centers, 1 Special Design Laboratory, Technopark 'Kyivska Polytechnica', Technopark 'Perspectiva', 20 Scientific Departments and 9 Institutes.

 

Editorial office and staff of Scientific Journal 'Naukovy Visty' ('Scientific News'), State Polytechnic Museum, Denisenko Science and Technical Library, and Information and Exhibition Units are integrated parts of Scientific Research and Development Department.

 

138 full-time scientists including 16 Doctors of Science and 210 Ph.D’s are involved in Research and Development. Academic staff of 2270 Professors, Associated Professors, Lecturers, Post-Graduates, Students, 12 Academicians and Associate Members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine are also involved in the scientific research as a part-time personnel.

 

NTUU KPI scientists receive scientific grants from the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine. Many of Research Projects are paid by the contracts with Ukrainian enterprises and institutions.

 

International R&D activity of NTUU KPI includes active participation in European and International R&D Programs, as well as International R&D Contracts, and International Science and Research Agreements of Ukraine.
