PREPARATORY SCHOOL
NTUU KPI enrolls international students in diverse undergraduate, specialist and postgraduate degree programs, with an overall number of more then 100 000 alumni from 112 countries. One of the most common programs chosen by international students is the Preparatory Program. Today the University offers a wide range of 77 Academic Programs / Majors.
International students can get a Degree studying in Ukrainian or Russian within any Academic Program.
International students can get their Degree studying in English only within following academic programs: 2.1. Aircrafts and Helicopters; 10.1. Aircraft Control Systems; 15.1. Computer Systems and Networks; 16.1. Intelligent Decision Making Systems, 29.2. Electronic Systems; 30.1. Mechanical Engineering Technology; 70.1. Control and Automation Systems; and 72.2. Telecommunication Systems and Networks.
Preparatory School gives students and scholars from many lands a place to live and learn together. All international students who come to study at NTUU KPI are offered one academic year intensive study of Ukrainian language or Russian Language, which will be the main language of teaching, as well as a possibility to improve their knowledge of the main subjects according to the future Degree, e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics, etc., at the Preparatory School of NTUU KPI.
The academic year begins in September, lasts for 10 months, and is divided into two sessions: Fall and Spring. The Program is made especially for international students. It assists students in all aspects of living and studying in Ukraine. The Program offers:
- Ukrainian or Russian language courses;
- General and specialized high school education courses;
- Pre-university training;
- Design-your-own program (to meet individual special needs of international students and professionals).
The pre-university basic courses combine Ukrainian or Russian language, and extensive training in skills necessary for the university level in Ukraine. The curriculum includes the practice in lecture comprehension, note-taking, essay and technical writing, text analysis, and library research skills.

Students have 6(8) hours of classes every day Monday through Friday, and 4 hours on Saturday, for a total of 40 classroom hours, and the supervisor session is every fifth (sixth) week.
Minimum entrance requirements:
Entrance into the Preparatory Program is based on the academic performance. Intending students should have a proven record and/or certificate of complete high school (or higher) education.
Program Benefits
By the course completion students get the certificate for further enrollment to Ukrainian Universities according to the subjects selected. One of the major benefits of the Preparatory Program is an enrollment to the preferred College/Institute at NTUU KPI or other University in Ukraine, and an offer of placement in this College/Institute.
If the student of the Preparatory School wants to continue the study in the particular Ukrainian University, NTUU KPI will help him/her to meet the criteria and qualifications needed, and will assist with the entire application process.
The faculty has modern equipment for studying; all classes are equipped with computers and language laboratories, special rooms for Russian language learning and Drawing.

Department of Language Teaching
The head of the Department is the senior teacher T.P. Choroshilova.
The students are taught in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
The studying process is based on the educational literature. The students are fully provided with workbooks and textbooks.
The teachers of this department supervise the quality of teaching and student's preparation. The department organizes scientific and practical training. The Department supports students during their adaptation to the cultural environment.
Department of Fundamental Sciences
The head of the Department is D.Sc., Prof. A.G. Vlasyuk.
Department helps the students to gain the fundamental knowledge in Math, Physics, Drawing and Informatics.
Department develops educational programs for students, providing students with educational literature, and implements computer technologies in studying process of technical subjects. The students are provided with all textbooks and workbooks.
Department of Natural and Economic Sciences
The head of the Department is PhD., Assist. Prof. V.I. Prochorov.
Due to activity of this Department the students gain fundamental knowledge in Chemistry, Country Studies, Economics and Economic Geography.
Department develops educational programs for students and provides students with educational literature.
The activity of the Department is oriented on student's acquaintance with Ukrainian culture through different events.
During sightseeing tours in Kiev at leisure time the students get to know more about historical and cultural landmarks. Students visit different museums and theatres.
Sport is very important for our students, and they take part with pleasure in different sport competitions.
