Institute and College Level
Institute and College level is a large academic formation within the University. Institute or College Council renders decisions within an Institute or a College, and is chaired by the Director or Dean. The Director and the Dean have the jurisdiction to act on behalf of the Institute or College. The Council determines the policy, resolves financial problems, manages the educational and research activity and elects top managers.
Departmental Level
Departments are the basic units in the academic and research hierarchy of the University's structure. Head of a Department is elected by its faculty, and serves as a Full Professor for the period of five years. The election should be endorsed by the Institute/College Council and then by the University Council. The Head of the Department is authorized to act on behalf of the Department. However, important decisions are made with the participation of the whole faculty through either a consensus or a vote.
